"Dress for success" – this saying is well known. But what actually lies behind the quality of the clothes we wear every day? In addition to design and material, proper workmanship is crucial for durability, colour fastness and comfort. Cold and heat supply play a central role here – and with them, heat pumps for cooling and heating. This is because textile production is characterised by a variety of processes: on the one hand, heat is required for washing and dyeing processes, for drying yarns and fabrics, and for steam generation in fibre washing machines. On the other hand, dyeing and bleaching require reliable cooling to ensure that chemical reactions proceed in a controlled manner and do not damage the textiles. Since textile production often runs around the clock, the simultaneous demand for cooling and heating is not only seasonal, but always present due to the nature of the process. We meet this demand in collaboration with our regional partner AIT Varmepumper at a Danish family-owned company in the bio-textile industry. We do this with a single heat pump for cooling and heating: our SPECTRUM Water. In this way, we support the textile company in making its production sustainable and thus contributing to decarbonisation of the industry.
Driving decarbonisation in industry
Because: As an ecologically sustainable alternative to fossil fuel-powered heat generators, SPECTRUM Water makes the cooling and heating supply in textile production sustainable for the future. Instead of just generating heat and providing cooling separately with chillers, our customer can cover both cooling and heating in an economical and environmentally friendly way with a single heat pump thanks to SPECTRUM Water. Our heating solution reduces primary energy consumption and significantly lowers CO₂ emissions and operating costs. For a textile company with a focus on organic products in particular, a sustainable cooling and heating supply perfectly complements its commitment to quality and responsibility. The combination of maximum system efficiency and refrigerants with low global warming potential, for example, guarantees energy-efficient operation. Similarly, the technology package consisting of oil-free and magnetically levitated turbo compressors with flooded shell-and-tube heat exchangers and the standard integrated open flash economiser ensures high efficiency and strong performance. This project thus demonstrates how cooling and heating supply can make a sustainable and contribution to decarbonisation in industry – for example, with just one heat pump for simultaneous cooling and heating.
