When a state institution opts for innovative heating technology, it sends a clear signal: sustainability is no longer a dream for the future, but a reality. This is precisely what this project demonstrates, in which our experts at ENGIE Refrigeration are making targeted use of two thermeco2 high-temperature heat pumps with cooling function. The challenge: to find a solution that meets complex temperature requirements, provides both heating and cooling, and uses a natural refrigerant – a combination that is technically demanding and particularly important in the public sector. Our thermeco(2)high-temperature heat pump with cooling function confidently meets all these criteria and masters the temperature gap between cold water at ten degrees Celsius and hot water at more than 75 degrees Celsius. Thanks to heat-cold coupling, thermeco(2)performs particularly efficiently.
And the heating solution scores with further advantages: the natural refrigerant CO₂used combines environmental protection, energy efficiency and cost-effectiveness – the ideal starting point for modern cooling and heating solutions. Among natural refrigerants,CO₂ is the only one that is neither flammable nor toxic. This facilitates safe and legally compliant use in various applications. The fact that high-temperature heat pumps with a cooling function do not leave the waste heat generated during the cooling process unused, but use it directly for heating purposes, speaks for their sustainability. This makes them suitable not only for government institutions, but also for all other applications where waste heat is generated throughout the year and both heating and cooling are required – whether for building heating, industrial processes or drinking water heating. Ultimately, this practical example shows that technical innovation and responsibility for future generations are not mutually exclusive, but complement each other perfectly. Our thermeco(2)high-temperature heat pumps with cooling function provide tangible proof of this!
