Where challenging conditions make the installation of refrigeration technology difficult, our experts at ENGIE Refrigeration are guaranteed to find a solution. Our team is proving this in the reception building of a large German main railway station, which is currently undergoing extensive modernization. To make the results of the modernization measures as efficient as possible, a reliable and sustainable cooling supply is needed directly on site. And what cooling solution could be better suited for this than our QUANTUM chillers? As the most efficient water-cooled chiller series currently available on the market, our QUANTUM Water series helps to meet high economic and ecological standards for cooling – and thus fits perfectly into this future-oriented modernization project. A total of two water-cooled QUANTUM chillers are used in the building. The systems use the refrigerant R-1234ze, which scores highly in terms of energy efficiency, sustainability, and future-proofing. It also complies with the requirements of the F-Gas Regulation.
QUANTUM chillers in flexible use
In addition to sustainability and efficiency, the demanding installation of our refrigeration technology plays a key role in this project. The compact design of the station building and the limited installation options presented a challenge. Our team of experts found a suitable solution: our systems are delivered partially disassembled and reassembled on site. This means that the fact that the QUANTUM chillers have to be brought in via a public area is no obstacle – thanks to our flexible service offering, the installation of the refrigeration technology is fast and uncomplicated. Our PROTECT enclosure solution, which is optimally tailored to the technical requirements of our QUANTUM chillers, ensures that our cooling systems will run efficiently and safely in the long term after integration into the station building. In summary: In this project, our specialists in cooling and heating demonstrate once again that requirements such as efficiency, sustainability, and challenging installation of refrigeration technology can be reliably mastered with the right concept.
