DirtStop: One machine protection device with many advantages
The influence of environmental factors is often underestimated – and this also applies to chillers. In particular, air-side contamination such as dust, pollen and leaves can affect the function, service life and efficiency of systems. If these come into contact with heat-transferring machine components, the heat transfer from the refrigerant to the air or vice versa deteriorates. The result: higher temperature differences, which affect the performance and efficiency of the chiller. We specifically prevent this effect with our DirtStop machine protection, thus offering you an accessory for your refrigeration technology that generates real added value.
Anyone familiar with ENGIE Refrigeration knows that we never compromise on the efficiency of our chillers. That's why our experts developed DirtStop – a machine protection system made of extremely robust stainless steel mesh that traps dirt particles in the air and thus protects the heat exchangers of various QUANTUM Air models from contamination. Our air-cooled QUANTUM is characterised by high efficiency and, in terms of cooling capacity, with a range from 250 kilowatts to two megawatts, it is still unsurpassed by any other air-cooled chiller with magnetic bearing compressor technology on the market. Our well-thought-out refrigeration accessories ensure that it stays that way!
DirtStop effectively keeps coarse dirt away from the chiller's heat exchangers. In addition to its efficiency, the machine protection scores points for its simple handling: thanks to a lightweight aluminium frame with integrated handles and magnetic fixation, the accessory can be quickly and easily mounted on and removed from the refrigeration system. DirtStop fits inconspicuously into the design of the V-modules of the chillers. To maintain the efficiency of the chiller, we recommend that operators regularly clean our machine protection. This can be easily done by brushing, vacuuming or washing. The module is available for the QUANTUM A3.0, QUANTUM A4.0 and QUANTUM A4.1 models (exceptions: chillers with thermosiphon and machines with HP and HP+V modules).
And the best thing is : operators save money with DirtStop. This is because the machine protection sets are much easier and cheaper to clean than the V-modules. This increases the time between service calls and also reduces chiller downtime. And if you want to save even more time and money, you can achieve this by adding a DirtStop kit, which can be flexibly mounted while the other kit is being cleaned. Since the DirtStop modules are removed before cleaning, the risk of damage to the chiller heat exchangers is significantly reduced – ensuring their consistent efficiency.
