Lindau, 20 November 2025 – With the introduction of the cloud-based service
ENGIE Refrigeration is setting new standards in the monitoring and control of chillers and industrial heat pumps. Customers benefit from state-of-the-art monitoring and a high level of data protection – while maintaining operational reliability.
ENGIE Refrigeration now offers COOLCARE 4.0, an innovative service on the international market for cooling and heating systems that gives customers decisive competitive advantages. The hardware required to connect to COOLCARE 4.0 is already included ex works in most models from the cooling and heating specialist's current portfolio, including QUANTUM Water, QUANTUM Air, SPECTRUM Water chillers and SPECTRUM Water heat pumps. Older models can be easily retrofitted by ENGIE Refrigeration's specialised service team. With
COOLCARE 4.0, the company based in Lindau on Lake Constance, Germany, helps customers to optimise the operation of their cooling and heating solutions in an even more targeted manner than it was previously possible. To this end, the cloud-based service within Digital Cloud Services comprises two central functions: data monitoring and remote access. On the one hand, data monitoring ensures the comprehensive recording of all operating data, statuses and alarms. The clear cloud visualisation shows the results in real time, while automatic fault messages provide immediate notification of any deviations. On the other hand, remote access enables access to a chiller or industrial heat pump at any time and from any location. In addition, ExpertSupport provides rapid assistance: if necessary, the
ENGIE Refrigeration service team connects directly to the chiller or industrial heat pump via remote access. Settings can be adjusted immediately, software updates installed and errors corrected. This enables the experts to efficiently solve many problems from a distance, log every step via a secure connection and reduce the need for on-site visits.
Focus on data protection
A key advantage of COOLCARE 4.0 is its smooth and secure integration into
ENGIE Refrigeration's Digital Cloud Services – for maximum transparency, efficiency and remote access. This involves the collection of operational machine data – such as operating times, efficiency indicators, compressor data and alarm messages – and the transmission of these data to the cloud. ENGIE Refrigeration's Digital Cloud Services – for maximum transparency, efficiency and remote access. Operationally relevant machine data – such as operating times, efficiency indicators, compressor data and alarm messages – are continuously and automatically transmitted via a secure connection. This process ensures maximum transparency and optimised operation. At the same time, personal data remain unaffected as they are not recorded. The multi-client capable solution also allows
ENGIE Refrigeration to centrally manage all user and group access. A multi-level security concept based on the IEC 62443 standard guarantees the highest possible data protection and prevents unauthorised access.
Digital service with a future
From a business perspective, COOLCARE 4.0 represents a decisive step towards the future: through continuous, reliable and location-independent monitoring, the new service offers users the opportunity to increase the efficiency and availability of their chillers and heat pumps, thereby enhancing operational reliability. COOLCARE 4.0 thus forms the basis for further future-oriented services from ENGIE Refrigeration. One example is the new remote start-up support, with which the cooling and heating specialist guarantees VIP support to customers within the first six weeks after commissioning a chiller or industrial heat pump. Jochen Hornung, Managing Director at ENGIE Refrigeration, emphasises: "Our target at
ENGIE Refrigeration is to provide our customers with the best service in the cooling and heating industry. Our Digital Cloud Services with COOLCARE 4.0 are a key component of this, as we are opening up new possibilities for the intelligent and sophisticated monitoring of chillers and industrial heat pumps. We are continuously developing these services and features – and thus preparing users for the future in a targeted manner.”
