Industrial heat pump enables efficient heat supply at the chemical park

Add to Bookmarks

A chemical industry site is modernising its heat supply to optimise energy use. Previously, heating was provided via a central steam distribution system with high system temperatures and a correspondingly high energy requirement. The aim of the project is to gradually adapt the heat supply whilst continuing to make reliable use of the existing infrastructure. The project is being carried out in collaboration with the Building Technologies division of ENGIE Deutschland GmbH.

  • Optimisation of heat supply through the use of an industrial heat pump
  • Space-saving integration through outdoor installation without the need for an additional plant room

Space-saving integration through outdoor installation without the need for an additional plant room

The challenge was to develop a future-proof supply concept that integrates into the existing system structures whilst reducing energy requirements. Furthermore, due to limited space, the creation of a conventional plant room was only possible to a limited extent. A compact, flexible and, at the same time, high-performance solution for industrial requirements was required.

A brine-to-water heat pump from the SPECTRUM SPH-W2160 series with Protect Plus Outdoor Setup is being used. The system can be installed outdoors, meaning no additional plant room is required. The heat pump is integrated into the existing heating network and enables heat to be supplied at a lower temperature whilst maintaining high efficiency.

The project involves the supply and commissioning of the system.

The new solution redefines the heat supply. Energy consumption can be reduced. At the same time, the outdoor installation allows for space-saving integration into existing industrial environments.

The combination of heat pump technology and flexible installation creates a foundation for the further development of industrial heat supply.
