Climate protection is currently at the heart of numerous political measures. These include the F-gas Regulation, which came into effect on 1 January 2015 and is designed to minimise the use of gases that are harmful to the environment. Consequently, the refrigeration and climate control industry is seeking out natural refrigerants that can provide an environmentally friendly alternative to refrigerants with a high GWP value (Global Warming Potential). Energy efficiency is incredibly important when it comes to improving climate protection, especially in the energy-intensive industry of refrigeration and climate control technology. With its new QUANTUM Air 4.0 chillers, ENGIE significantly reduces energy consumption in refrigeration – the QUANTUM A1250, for example, consumes up to 410,000 kWh less per year than the EU Ecodesign Tier 2 reference value under Regulation (EU) 2016/2281, cutting CO₂ emissions by approximately 200 tonnes annually.
