MARENUM on board: Chillers as efficiency levers for maritime technology

Long ferry crossings with passengers or temperature-sensitive cargo are virtually unthinkable without efficient cooling. As part of maritime technology, chillers stabilize temperatures in cold rooms and storage areas regardless of the outside temperature and sea conditions, generate cold water for air conditioning systems, protect against overheating and system failures, and help the shipbuilding industry meet environmental standards. In short, without chillers, the system on many ferries would be in serious trouble. But not with MARENUM: our series currently ensures the exact temperature on several 190-meter-long ferries. With a cooling capacity of 2.4 megawatts each, two MARENUM chillers contribute to the comfort of numerous guests and crew members.

On a technical level, high-performance heat pipes for seawater resistance and adequate heat exchangers make sure that MARENUM chillers always run efficiently. A controllable 3-way valve promises complete reliability at seawater temperatures of -2 to 36 degrees Celsius.
