The thermeco2 high-temperature heat pump raises the temperatures of free regenerative ambient heat sources, such as geothermal energy, groundwater, industrial waste heat or waste water to an especially high level. The machine unfolds its full potential in challenging temperature ranges. Warm water temperatures of 90 degrees Celsius can be achieved without additional heating by means of a gas burner or heating element. Even large temperature differences between the warm water inlet and outlet, such as from 30 to 90 degrees Celsius, do not pose a problem. Quite the opposite: this situation actually increases the efficiency of the machine.
It develops its full potential where there is a simultaneous strong demand for heat and refrigeration. This combined heating and cooling by the heat pump ensures maximum output values and maximum efficiency.
The thermeco2 high-temperature heat pump fulfils the conditions of various funding programs run by the Federal Office for Economic Affairs and Export Control (BAfA). The technical designation R-744 refers to nothing other than the natural refrigerant CO2. In the long term, it is cheaper than alternative refrigerants.
Above all, CO2 shines because it contributes neither to the destruction of the ozone layer nor to the greenhouse effect. An absolute plus for all companies that want to pay more attention to their climate neutrality in future.
In short, R-744 is economical, climate-friendly and safe, as it is neither toxic nor flammable.
As an environmentally friendly alternative to fossil burners, thermeco2 high-temperature heat pumps are driving decarbonisation and sustainable food production. In this project, five thermeco2 HHR1000s with a total heat output of 5 MW contribute to the zero-carbon strategy in the greenhouses of the Osatina Group.
The ALBA Group employs around 7,500 people, and is active in Germany, Europe and Asia with its ALBA and Interseroh brands. In 2015 alone, the recycling activities of the ALBA Group saved almost 5.9 million tons of greenhouse gases when compared to primary production, and around 51.8 million tons of primary raw materials.
Combined heat and cold generation in the high-temperature heat pump generates thermal heat of 40/80 °C in parallel to the new large boilers and uses the waste heat directly from the chilled water network for climate application to do so.
Optimal energy efficiency for hospitals: The heat pump will guarantee the combined generation of cold and heat in parallel to the two new large boilers, generate thermal heat for heating drinking water.
The CO2 high-temperature heat pump from ENGIE Refrigeration was chosen because it can supply the required network temperatures, retain a reserve for supply temperatures up to 90 °C, and can also be operated in parallel to a district heat supply.
An entirely new building was erected in Heroldsberg. The heat pump is located in the heating system in the cellar. The main task of the heat pump is to activate the probe array, as server cooling is to a large extent covered by free cooling.
