SPECTRUM Water heat pump receives AHRI-WCCL certification

17 April 2023

ENGIE Refrigeration is pleased to announce that it has received an internationally renowned seal of quality: the SPECTRUM Water heat pump from the product portfolio of the refrigeration and heating specialist based in Lindau am Bodensee, Germany, has received performance certification from the US Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI). This is one of the world's most important and trusted certification systems for heat pumps and refrigeration systems in the commercial and industrial sectors.

Highly efficient, oil-free and climate-friendly: The water-to-water heat pump SPECTRUM Water from ENGIE Refrigeration meets the highest requirements for a powerful, climate-friendly and reliable heat supply. In order to provide even greater assurance of the achieved performance data of the series launched in March 2022, SPECTRUM Water has now been certified according to the strict requirements of the AHRI standard. Jochen Hornung, Managing Director of ENGIE Refrigeration, says: "At ENGIE Refrigeration, it is our ambition to offer our customers the best products and to be a reliable partner on their way to climate neutrality. The AHRI certification confirms that we succeed in this with our SPECTRUM Water heat pump. We are proud of this."

SPECTRUM Water meets the highest standards

AHRI certification is globally recognized and one of the most trusted performance certification systems for heat pumps and chillers. It confirms that SPECTRUM Water meets all the requirements of the WCCL program "Water-Cooled Water-Chilling and Heat Pump Water-Heating Packages" program and that the performance values shown in the technical documentation and the company's own design software correspond to the results of a test bench measurement. To this end, on-site tests were conducted on ENGIE Refrigeration's certified test bench by a DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025-accredited testing institute under contract to the AHRI certification body: The test took place under full load conditions at high heat transfer fluid outlet temperatures of 60 degrees Celsius; in accordance with the US AHRI Standard 551/591 in the "Water Cooled Heating" category. In addition, SPECTRUM Water was the first machine from ENGIE Refrigeration that was certified according to the European and harmonized standards EN14511 and EN14825, which, in addition to the heat output and the COP (Coefficient Of Performance) value at full load, also take into account the reported SCOP values and thus the partial load operation of the machine. The European standards and measured values according to EN14511 and EN14825 form the basis for the Ecodesign Regulation VO (EU) 813/2013 and are recognized as official test standards within the framework of the BEG heat pump promotion - an important advantage for customers and a further strategic step by ENGIE Refrigeration to strengthen its portfolio in the field of large heat pumps.
